Gratuated in professional Drama School of Florent in France in 2006, Quentin Delorme has pursued his artistic career as a director, actor and drama teacher. From 2003 to 2010, he directed a company with which he developed theatrical projects in France, Vietnam, Morocco, Italy and Belgium. He has notably worked on street theater creations, staged texts such as de l’Autre rive, and Au bord de la vie by Gao Xinjang, and adapted texts by Henri Michaux, Théophile Gauthier, and the Gospels. He won the “Prix Jeune Talent” (Young Talent Award) Paris in 2008. He also participated in the creation and management of a cultural center in Ivry sur Seine, “Le Sans Plomb”, 3,000 m2 of cultural bombsite. In 2009, he travelled to South-East Asia to work as a drama teacher in various countries (Thailand, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam), before settling in 2010 in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he created ATH (Atelier Théâtre et Arts) in collaboration with Marianne Seguin.
For the past 13 years, he has been developing a global method of teaching performing arts based on the body and personal development. Through his work at ATH, which has included adaptations of Vietnamese fairy tales and the legend of Ulysses, staging texts by Brecht and Michalik, and Nguyen Du’s Kim Van Kieu, he has developed his stage design skills and deepened his search for a more democratic, more universal art form, as well as his desire for access to culture for all. In 2020, he officially opened ATH’s activity to the production of professional shows, touring his show Fragments de Pessoa around Hanoi and Vietnam, as well as a forum theater project called “A flour to be picked” in factories with workers to raise public awareness of the issue of sexual harassment. Driven by the idea of a popular and humanist theater, Quentin Delorme’s creations are always in search of artistic inventions and new scenic truths to offer audiences a theater that speaks to human nature, and gives spectators keys to understanding the world.
