1. OVERVIEW

Street Dance at ATH offers teens and adults the opportunity to develop strong technical foundations while exploring personal style, musicality, and artistic expression. Classes include groove training, freestyle practice, choreography, performance skills, and creative movement exploration inspired by a variety of street dance styles.

Students are challenged to push their physical abilities, express themselves authentically, and collaborate with others through performance projects. Whether dancing for personal growth or preparing for the stage, the class encourages confidence, discipline, artistic curiosity, and creative risk-taking.

2. OBJECTIVES

Throughout the year, students will:

  • Develop solid street dance technique and movement vocabulary.
  • Strengthen musicality, rhythm, coordination, flexibility, and dynamic movement quality.
  • Build body control, strength, and confidence through technical training.
  • Explore freestyle improvisation and develop an authentic personal dance style.
  • Enhance stage presence, performance quality, and expressive movement.
  • Collaborate through choreography, ensemble work, and creative performance projects.
  • Build communication, trust, and constructive collaboration within a dance team.

Students will have opportunities to perform in ATH showcases and collaborative performances throughout the year, allowing them to demonstrate their artistic development while gaining valuable stage experience.
