1. OVERVIEW

Children aged 6 to 10 discover the joy of singing together through a fun and creative vocal ensemble. Open to students who enjoy singing, the program develops musicality, confidence, listening skills, and self-expression while introducing the pleasure of making music as a group.

Sessions combine vocal technique, musical games, rhythm, movement, body percussion, harmony, and repertoire from different cultures and musical styles. As students gain confidence, they progressively learn to sing independently while blending their voices with the ensemble and contributing to a shared musical performance.

Working in a mixed-age vocal ensemble allows younger students to learn by listening to more experienced singers, while older students naturally develop confidence, responsibility, and leadership by supporting the younger members. This collaborative environment strengthens musical listening, teamwork, creativity, and the joy of singing together.

2. OBJECTIVES

Throughout the season, students develop healthy vocal technique, rhythm, pitch accuracy, breathing, musical listening, harmony, and stage confidence. They discover a wide variety of musical styles while learning how to interpret songs as an ensemble and contribute to a collective musical sound.

The program encourages creativity, curiosity, and collaboration through movement, body percussion, vocal exploration, and simple musical arrangements adapted to the group's age and abilities. Students progressively become more confident performers while developing their musical ear and expressive abilities.

The season culminates in one or more live performances, presented as part of the Winter Fest and the P.A.S. Festival, where students share the repertoire they have built together throughout the season and experience the excitement of performing as a vocal ensemble.

3. DISCIPLINE SUMMARY

Music: Express Yourself and Perform

ATH music classes develop a complete musical experience, combining instrument or vocal practice,  improvisation, and ensemble performance. Students explore rhythm, melody, harmony, and creative expression while playing in groups, bands, or ensembles.

Music classes are designed for beginners and advanced students alike, and focus only on group learning, there are no private lessons included. Collaboration, listening, and community music-making are central to the practice.
