1. OVERVIEW

The Circus class is designed for students aged 11 to 18, with groups of 8 to 10 students. Through training in fundamental circus disciplines such as balancing, juggling, acrobatics, and aerial work, students progressively discover their physical potential, develop movement skills, and build confidence in performance.

The program follows a progression from basic to more advanced skills, adapted to each student’s ability, physical development, learning pace, progress, and individual talent. Students are encouraged to develop at their own pace while gradually challenging themselves with more complex techniques and combinations.

Beyond technical training, students are introduced to Circus as an artistic language, where technical skills are not only performed with precision but are also transformed into creative, expressive performance.

2. OBJECTIVES

Throughout the program, students develop fundamental physical skills including strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, body control, spatial awareness, and concentration. They also learn to overcome challenges, manage emotions, and build confidence when performing skills and presenting their work to an audience.

The program focuses on the individual development of each student. Starting from fundamental techniques, students progressively learn to create movement sequences by combining circus skills with music, rhythm, movement, and expression, developing both creativity and artistic decision-making.

Each month, students take part in the creation of a performance piece, transforming the skills they have learned into a structured presentation with music, choreography, and staging based on a specific theme. This allows students to experience the complete creative process: learning skills – training – creating – collaborating – and performing.

3. DISCIPLINE SUMMARY

Circus – The Art of Exploring the Body and Challenging Limits

Circus is an art form that combines physical technique, precision, creativity, and performance. Through training, students learn to understand and control their bodies, develop strength and flexibility, and explore their own potential for physical and artistic expression.

Classes combine technical training with artistic creation. Students are introduced to a variety of circus disciplines, from balancing, juggling, and acrobatics to aerial work. Each skill is developed progressively, with an appropriate level of challenge according to each student’s abilities and progress.

Circus is also a collaborative art form. Students learn to observe, listen, support, and trust one another, developing a strong sense of responsibility and ensemble awareness both in training and in performance.

5. VALUES OF CIRCUS

Circus allows students to develop their body, mind, and creativity simultaneously. Every new technique requires concentration, perseverance, and the willingness to move beyond familiar limits. When students achieve something they once thought was impossible, they gain not only a new skill but also confidence and a stronger belief in their own abilities.

Through training and performing together, students learn to respect, trust, and support one another, while developing an understanding of discipline and responsibility within an ensemble.

Most importantly, Circus is not simply about performing difficult skills. It is a process of transforming skills into art, movement into expression, and individual effort into a collective creation.
